It rained here last night, not a huge amount but it all helps
That's only the third spell of rain we have had since the end of May. The last two were quite heavy and filled up the water butts.

At least you got some my neighbour up here in Meath had same problems and reckons he only got enough for one dinner. He normally has pounds and pounds of them. its been the maddest year.

What sort of fennel are you talking about, hh? Florence fennel - the bulb type for eating - is harvested when the bulb gets to the size of your liking. Herb fennel, which doesn't have the bulbous base is a perennial, which grows tall but you only pick off the frondy leaves, or leave it to flower an...
