I copy here a link about Sepp Holzer's Root Cellar construction process. I think it's very interesting for people who have terraced land ! This root cellar is one big wild dream I have yet to be accomplished, LOL

Instead of using cement for the foundations we used lime, I don't know the english name for it, it's natural lime. You just mix it with water, it's corrossive so use gloves when you build you wall. I didn't have much time this year to attend my vegpatch but I've dedicated myself to collect other things like perennial fruits and nuts. We are harvesting apples, figs and walnuts right now. Soon in the forest we will find tons of mushrooms :)
