Re: Couch Grass
Thanks Maggie Did try to remove one of the duplicate posts but wasnt sure how to do it. Thanks everyone for all your advice. I think I will go for the systemic roundup weedkiller before I plant up the borders, leave them for a few weeks make sure the weedkiller has degraded and then finger crossed i...

Couch Grass

Re: Black stains appeared overnight on my new oak windows - help
Hi Healer Yes this response has been extremely useful. Before second coating it I did give the windows a very light go over with a fine wire wool which I then wiped off with a clean dry soft cloth. Chances are I would guess this is what could have possibly kickstarted the reaction. The plan is to sa...

Re: Black stains appeared overnight on my new oak windows - help
Many thanks There are no steel pins/fixings etc where the staining has occured whatsoever. I can only see pins right at the top of the window under the arch and this area of the windows is fine. The back 2 upstairs windows, the first floor landing window and the front door have no stains whatsoever ...

Hi Ive just had my new solid oak windows and door fitted. They have a base and top coat of Osmo Polyx oil UV 420 applied. They were fitted 3 weeks ago and on Tues we had torrential rains all day and night. Yesterday when I came home I was mortified to find the sills and georgian bar have leached wha...

Another Eggy Question...
Hi my hen is laying really poor eggs. She doesnt lay every day but when she does the shells are quite thin, particularly at the top of the egg, almost paper like, so they smash very easily which leaves a very messy nest box. She is totally free range has the run of our garden and my neighbour's gard...

We're in the process of bringing it back to its former glory and want to replace its currentl old and past it oak windows with new double glazed argon filled solid oak windows. Need to rehome an exbattery chicken... help
Hi Ian I was wondering if you could at all help. Last year my husband and I adopted 3 ex battery chickens from the BHWT in Coventry. Unfortunately one of the girls (Flo) has turned out to be a constant bully. Prior to separation we tried different approaches to stop the pecking by using purple spray...

Our rescue Chook, Dotty passed away :0(
Dotty our rescue warren sadly passed away yesterday. She'd always been the "runt" one out of the three and the last month or two we noticed she'd been having her good and bad days. We thought perhaps she was going through her moult. We gave her some garlic, honey and sage in her water and ...

How do I remove water marks from my leather boots?
I purchased some brown leather boots last year and got caught out in the rain so now theyve got horrible water stains on them. I tried polishing them but as I thought, it hasnt made any difference.
Does anyone know of a way that I can remove the stains?
Thanks

Re: Poorly chicken, please help
Hi
Well theyve all been treated to the garlic sage and honey brew.
She seems brighter moving and eating now but shes still not her usual self, her head being still tucked in.
Could it be part of the moulting process that she feels a little under the weather?
thanks

Re: air-source heat pumps
Hi My otherhalf sells ASHP's as well all the other renewables. He reckons as advised above insulate everywhere as much as possible, then do it again. Likely that a heat pump will be drawing quite a bit of power for long periods of time. A correctly specified system should be able to run for as long ...

Tail varies from up and down, shes not scratching about and is quite slow and lethargic when shes walking around, her neck is tucked in. Ive noticed shes drinking an awful lot, but havent seen her eat...
