Re: Top tips for the diy polytunnel maker

All good advice to read and share. I am trying to make a poly tunnel - just one side - so it is supported by the shed on one side.

Starting a container garden

My garden is very small and laid to slabs (YUCK)

Can anyone suggest - what I can start growing in say the next week or so -

I want ideas for food items and yeah some flowers would be nice. Tips hints and suggestions welcome.

Re: Help finding news links

One thing you can try is to use the different search engines and select the news tab.
as your query is "employee" specific include that and just try different words

maybe - mix up = careless= or such.
You could also find the web sites of news papers and do a random search.

Re: Brighton seaweed / pollution

I wonder if your local council - maybe even thier web site would have any information you could check.
Perhaps the local environmental health - worth even a phone call

Re: Brighton seaweed / pollution

I have heard of seaweed being added to breads but not sure at all about its use where you are and of course there are different types of sea weed. -

Maybe some one else can help out - but meanwhile I will email a few mates and ask them.

20 miles - yikes.

Niele da Kine wrote:If you know anyone who forages, ask if you can go along. Each geographic location will have it's own things to forage and a book may not cover all the ones in your area. But at least a book is a place to start.

That is good advice.

Maybe also try just having a look around and asking -

Free seeds -

Just noticed the offer is closed - as they say the early bird get the seeds or worms whatever.

The BBC web page for Country File has a link to a web site offering to send out a packet of free wild flower seeds.

Re: Tiny Houses any suggestions/advice

Thanks for the advice - it is all good to learn of suggestions. One thing I had thought was building with good TandG pent roof good like 2ft overhang and stack straw bales around walls.
