Re: What i'm brewing at the moment

I still haven't got round to bottleing that elderberry stuff in previous post. I need to do it soon though as I'm going to The Homebrew Festival in two weeks time, and will take some with me for appraisal.

Re: How do I stop cats using my garden as a toilet?

lion poo works - you can get it from a nearby zoo/wild life park. also human urine, presumably male is a stronger scent. coffee grinds can be spread over the dug area, cats don't like the bits getting in their paws, ground egg shell also works in this way. then there are flavour/scent things, like o...

Re: Why are cardboard coffins so expensive?

is it also cheaper to dig your own grave? (with a purple shovel?) I guess you'd have to go back every so often to redig it as it would cave in over time. You'd have to be fairly sure of how long left youd got, and still be able to dig the grave though, and it doesn't take account of accidental death...

Re: Planning for being self sufficientish in 2015

I had an old pair of jeans where the button had gone, and they were too tight, but the legs were fine, so I cut those up and used them as patches of the knees of a couple of other pairs of work jeans, and I made a very nice back pocket too - shame it's a brown pocket on dark blue jeans but there you...

Re: Choosing a new stove. Recomendations appreciated

I'd take a look at The Green Living Forum - which you probably know about, or are even registered on, as it's a similar ethos to this place. They have a great knowlede base about all things wood burning, and stove related. There's also Arbtalk, which though is more arborists talking tree stuff, some...

Re: FREE ,DEMI JOHNS

if you cut the bases off at least they'd be stackable and take up less room.

Re: FREE ,DEMI JOHNS

you could fill them with fairy lights to make a nice lighting affect.
or give them to someone who'll use them for brewing - because once you've removed the base they'll never be used for brewing again.

Re: Define your alternative self

I make my own homebrew cider, and wine, and beer. Most people that I know, that's enough to call me alternative. I mend socks, and a pair of slippers that I had lasted ten years, because I kept replacing/mending the soles when they wore out. I have at least three pairs of jeans that I've patched the...

Re: A QUIZ!!!!!!

depends if I actually have to be around at a specific time, or if it's a list of questions that are posted up on ish that I can come back to... but yeah why not - put me down!

(I don't like brewing questions, or those about London Underground Stations. ... honest)
