Our biggest money-savers are asparagus and rhubarb, without question! Even in season the prices are insane. And half of what you buy is waste. Luckily, these are the first things I planted on our farm, so we are well off on these two vegs.

I have a clotheline outside for summer drying. For winter, I use a wooden clothe rack that my Grandparents had when they moved into town in the 1940"s. I can't use it when I'm not home,though. The cats think I set it up for them to play on and the clothes wind up on the floor.

Hello

We live in Illinois on a very small farm(about 2 acres)and try to grow most of our own veg. We have a few fruit trees and big plans for expanding our gardens and hopefully someday keeping a few chickens. I came here to learn and laugh. I've been a fan of "The Good Life" for a very long tim...
