Oh no, i love eating fresh ones. We've got quite a big strawberry patch plus some lovely wild ones growing under the fruit trees in the orchard. But i usually eat them all fresh with the kids and don't have enough for jam

Maybe you can buy what they need on condition they pay you back with weekly/monthly installments. Or get something off freecycle like suggested above.
