Re: Poorly chicken with emerald green/white sloppy poo

Possibly coccidiosis. You can get remedies and vaccinations from the vet. You really need to move the chickens from that site and clean out and air the coop.

Re: Anyone else poo-less?

Apparently rinsing in eggs works (remember to rinse!) But I recommend eating more fats and seeing how it goes.

Re: Home schooling advice.

Now, I have no input on the whole home-ed discussion, but we have a totally different experience of Ireland from Mabu, it would seem. Oh don't get me wrong, if you are Irish and in a rural Irish area then that's fine, it sounds like your kids go to a damn good school. Thing is, I'm not Irish and ha...

Re: Home schooling advice.

It's refreshing to hear all of your opinions and encouragement, thanks for replying! Mabu: do you have any suggestions for meeting like-minded people? HAHA! Nope. That's the hard bit, I've been to home-school conventions before and it was just a bunch of travellers getting together for a piss-up. N...

Re: Anyone else poo-less?

I came in here ready to recommend you all a good probiotic! I haven't washed my hair in 2 years, it is thick and long and when I used shampoo it was always dandruffy, itchy and troublesome. The first two weeks without shampoo were bad, my hair was greasy and I could stick it up in a clump about 8&qu...

Re: Am I Going Mad?

The school is not the authority in your child's life, it is their job to teach your child and make sure they get qualifications in the future, NOT to undermine the parents and turn them against positive values you taught them. If you feel you can't go in their and make the point in a positive way th...

Re: Home schooling advice.

I've put a lot of thought into this really, the main problem is the community you're living in. You can most likely teach your children anything you like, however you like. I take it you're not stupid parents and you're not going to raise a child unable to keep up with children in school and end up ...

Re: Am I Going Mad?

Have you talked to the teacher about this at all? They generally have no clue what they're talking about and if you can explain your reasoning well enough they will have nothing to say. Green earth and family values and all that.

Re: What are you growing this year??

You seem to have chosen all my experiments in the garden! Yardlong beans are an annual climbing vine that produces delicious long green beans, I used to buy them from the asian food shop so I figured I might as well try and grow some. I have them up in the polytunnel, they love heat and HATE wet lea...

  poor Mabu, I feel your pain  We were in desperate need of rain and we have got plenty over the past couple of days so very happy. Trouble is in Wales, as the locals say, once the rain starts it never quite knows how to stop. :toothy2: :sunny: Thanks for your loving support!...
