Re: Bo'ness Boy says hello

Hello and welcome
In our house we always have something brewing, whatever it was picked in the hedgerows or in the garden... It is an addiction!

Re: Bloody, Bloody, Weather

Well at least we are doing as well as each other... I seeded straight in the ground, some cucumbers, melons, watermelons (ha,ha,ha, I hear some say), aubergines and courgettes, end of April and at this point still nothing has shown! I know I will have to start again as soon as the weather warms up, ...

Re: Bonjour from France

Well it seams we have another 2 weeks of this disgusting cold weather... It will then be mid-April and I am not sure trees will have any leaves yet by then! What a mad start of the year. And it is no better in Britain...... :(

Re: Am I behind or am I going mad??

I have been told a few times to sow some peas as they don't freeze easily, or if they do it has to be seriously cold, well below zero. They will be the 1st things I will do, but I am not quite ready yet. I need one more round of the old rotovator before I can start.... Anyway, I would suggest you se...

Welcome to Ish,
You are certainly seriously self sufficient already! Well done and keep us posted on your future adventures. The idea of living on €2000/person/year sounds already so great. Well done! :salute:

Re: Keeping Wild Boar

Where I live, in the Sologne region of France (very central with large forests) we are plagued with wild boars. You would simply not be allowed to keep those animals even fenced as the risk of them escaping and adding to the already massive population is way too big. The animals have to be hunted by...

Re: Hi Everyone

Hi NorthernTeacher and welcome, Beware of yellow toms, I did some last year and was really disappointed (no taste). It was possibly due to the brand I used: Yellow Stuffers. I would definitely not suggest those. I did some black ones which were okay (Black Russians), very big and quite nice. ...

Re: Bonjour from France

Hum, not sure I can get used to the mad red tape... I think they are even worse with ex - expats... Anyway, we are enjoying our b it of countryside away from everybody and everything. Lots of animals, lots of trees... it is just great for that matter and we could not have done our move anywhere else...
