chickens and mud
Hi, This may seem like a silly question... With all the rain our chicken run has become, basically a bog! Apart from the mess of going in and changing water and food is there any risk to the hens? I did put some straw down, which helped for a day or so... Would it be better to dug out the mud and pu...

Re: new arrivals :-)
thanks for the replies. They are much more settled and aren't running away when we go anywhere near them. They've even been into the house (not planned but quite a surprise for our vistors) We've learnt to just leave them to put themselves to bed and around dusk off they go :-) Now after a week of h...

If it's not slugs...
If it's not slugs, what could be eating my veg?
I can't see an evidence of slugs around the planters and I've even run some old cooper pipe around the tops.
Anyone know what could have eaten most of my carrots and courgettes

The chickens have arrived... 3 hens collected on Saturday from an amazing place just outside of Mintey. All 3 seem to be settling in well, even the cat seems ok with them. http://twitpic.com/3iw2g ~ any hints on the breeds would be welcome :-) as we forgot what the lady told us (too excited) Had fun...

Chicken house plans
Hi,
Anyone have a good set of plans for a home-made chicken house?
I saw the one in the book and wondered if these are available online (to share with my dad)
Or if anyone else has any others to share?
Thanks,
Dave
