Good way to use those insidious plastic bottles including the milk ones. Watch them and when they get tight just slack off the top and let some of the pressure out. If they do burst you get the beer over the floor but no glass shattering.

Re: Royal Cornwall Show
Pretty good overall. I was there for the first two days so didn't get rained on at all. A lot of people browsing and making enquiries and a few buyers. Here's a couple of pics of the stall (if that's OK) http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s89/bodrighy/misellaneous/th_P6050888.jpg http://i150.photobu...

Re: pests in my kitchen!! please help!!
This brings back memories. When I first went to sea the cooks used to tip all the cereals for breakfast onto the hotplate on the stove before serving it up for breakfast. Loads of little wevils used to come running out and 'cooking' on the plate. The cereal was all put into a bowl and put on the tab...

Re: Royal Cornwall Show

It has something for everyone. I look at all the craft stands and John goes off to talk to all his farm...

Re: Eco disinfectant?
Grapefruit seed extract, lemon, vinegar, Lavendar, cedar, cinnamon, mint all have disinfetant and / or anti bacterial properties. Try googling 'Natural disinfectants' there is quite a range.

Perennial or not?
Apparently a good number of the things that we grow as annuals are in fact perennials. I was wondering if anyone has tried growing tomatoes, runner beans etc as perennials? If so where and how?

Re: Seeds from fruit and vegetables...
We have always grown butternut squashes from the seeds out of a shop bought fruit with great success. This year the seeds from a shop bought capsicum are doing better tha the packet we bought. When we ran a holiday centre we had a sceptic tank overflow and we had about 100 kilo of tomatoes (the seed...
