Re: A short questionnaire on foraging for my dissertation
Done. Would you consider posting some feedback about what your respondants do? I would be quite interested to know the age range, places, uses etc. Dead nosy, me! Good luck with your dissertation.

Brilliant video, and very impressive quality. I haven't seen Japweed up here on the North West coast yet, but will look out for it. In the meantime, add me to the list of your Fat Friends when it comes to giving away free samples...!

Re: What I don't have...but wish I did!
I'd like the ability to see only what's important rather than being bombarded by what the newspapers, radio and society decide is important, A bigger garden with higher fences (there is a 4' limit on this former 100% council estate), More energy (physical and mental - I'm permamently exhausted!), A ...

Re: nettle fertiliser
When we moved into this house the garden was full of nettles and dandelions - as soon as I decided to treat them as an asset (nettle soup, nettle fertiliser, dandelion salad etc) they decided to ship out! I keep Giant African Land Snails and they love the odd bit of dandelion, and I have to pick it ...

Re: Christmas presents
Last year I made lavender bags and herb bags, paired up and attached with ribbon to make them into shoe stuffers. Also used some pretty fabric to make pocket paper tissue holders. And I mixed up some almond oil/essential oil blends and put into roller-ball bottles and labelled them as shaving oils f...

Cress growing on a windowsill, fried egg (eughhh, but hubby had a craving!) and coffee brewing. Oh, and there is a whiff of new mown grass if you stand near the window!

Re: School dinners
I may be the odd one out here, but I remember school dinners with enormous fondness. Mind you, my mother was a truly terrible cook, so it may have all been relative! Funnily enough, when I was at one particular primary school (I was there for about 3 years, in the late 60s) it didn't have a kitchen,...

Hubby and I went to the Cemetery yesterday to put flowers on his Mum's grave. as we were leaving we passed the bins on the ends of the rows and they were full of dead flowers etc - I am seriously thinking of suggesting to the Council that they install brown recycling bins, or invite people to add de...

Two or three, but no fresh snow today. We're right next to the sea (well, a few hundred yards away!) and it's said to be very unusual to have snow here, but this is two out of the last three years since we moved up here, so it's not unusual any more!

Re: New greenhouse
Wow - that's very impressive indeed. I hope you'll add more photos to show us how it progresses. Brilliant deal on the windows! what does it measure? I think it would take up two-thirds of my garden, but it's inspiring just the same!
