Re: Pellet burning boilers.

My house (Sweden) is run by a pellet CH boiler. Overall I rate it pretty highly. They give a very good heat - comparable to oil CH. Do all the hot water and so on too. And, with a medium sized hopper, you only have to load it once a week. (A little more often in the really cold winter). Cleaning is ...

David Attenborough on... climate change "There is no question that climate change is happening; the only arguable point is what part humans are playing in it," he says. "Personally I would be absolutely astounded if population growth and industrialisation and all the stuff we are pump...

Re: jets and the jetstream

LOL at some of the comments on here. There is climate change. The only question is what is causing it. example 1: Arctic ice is melting more and more every summer. (ie Specifically there is less and less of it every summer). That isn't "typical British summer". It is the Arctic. Which, the...

Re: "Will we ever learn"

As to the chemicals... I don't know enough about them to say.

But, from the point of view of taste alone, organic food tastes different.

And not just different. But better.

And I'd take a blindfold test of ANY fruit, veg, bread, wine or other food produce AND be able to tell the difference!!!

Re: Catch crayfish

Where are you? If you're in the UK, there are a number of legal considerations involved - the native White-clawed crayfish is protected, and the Signal crayfish is an invasive species. Precisely what restrictions apply vary according to location, so you should contact the Environment Agency (in Eng...

Re: cray fish recipes wanted

recipes i'm not so sure about... but where are you based? in the uk and many parts of europe i think only certain limited types of crayfish can be caught. and even then only at certain times of year.

i've no idea off hand what any of the restrictions are, but it pays to find out if you're unsure....

Det ligger södra av stockholm? Ganska nära till norrköping?
Jag tror att det är ett vilt landskap. Lite som Kronoberg/Småland.
Så.... det är säkert att du har ingen behov av trä!!!

I'm not Scottish nor do I live in Scotland.

But I'd vote for Independence every time.

Scotland ought not to be run from London.

Re: Where to live

This is all built on some false middle-class,b---s--t premiss....you need 20% deposit MINIMUM.Cheapest half decent place round here:$150 grand. For a few people(actually for the overwhelming majority) this might as well be half a million. True. But mortgages don't work the same way in other countrie...

Re: Where to live

So basically all things being equal at the moment you are really about £100 a month worse off renting than buying. With the costs of buying or selling a house with legal and stamp duty etc being £5,000 minimum if you plan on moving in the next 5 years then you would still be better of renting. ---- ...
