I have insufficient solar for any large appliances and we are not advanced enough to be worrying about a pantry, am work...

... and turning off the fridge . We live fridge-free in the south of spain and only use a freezer a couple of months of the year when we have sufficient solar power. It is totally doable in your climate. What problems did you come across? I'd be happy to see if I can help. Did you try a pot-in-pot,...

Re: The big leap
Hi again, at the moment I live in suburbia on the Wirral nice place but not what I want. I would hope to be able to survive on around 50 euros/pounds a week. I base this on the UK pension provision. One day I will only have a a government pension to exist on. That is circa 85 pounds per week so the...

Composting Toilet Chamber Dimentions
I am starting to build a compost toilet, and need some advice. I am building a twin chambered vaulted toilet that is an external build. As a result the toilet area will be raised above the chambers. I am looking to find out an informed decision on the size of the chambers required. There are two of ...

Re: Rabbit meat
There are a number of good internet links out there on what we can grow / kitchen scraps we can give them, but I find this book better because it's telling me exactly how to go about it, and what is needed at each stage (eg what to feed normally, when breeding, etc). Thanks, the t'internet will nev...

Re: Charge Controller Size? - Help Please
Thanks people, had a reply from a company that deals and sells solar stuff, this is what they say: "The charge controller is related to the power output of the solar panel (since you can always connect loads directly to the battery if the load current would exceed the current rating of the cont...

Charge Controller Size? - Help Please
Hi
I currently have 18W solar panel for charging 72Ah leisure battery as part of my offgrid living. I am intending to buy either 1 or 2 130W panels giving me either 148W or 278W.
Can someone recommend the size of a charge controller for:
a) 148W, and
b) 278W
Thanks
