I have grown peppers outdoors & have absolutely no problems with them, I'm not sure what the cultivar was but it was an F1 hybrid

They gave the deadly nightshade plant the name belladonna so it is not the only poisonous plant with a more pleasant name

They were once used for torture by shoving them where the sun don't shine, as many as they could get it & leave them to rot causing the person to be very ill indeed. I do not suggest anyone should revive this method or any method of torture
