Re: Distinct lack of energy...

Dear Big Al,

Don't know if the's any research to back up your theory. Perhaps you could apply for lottery funding to continue your line of enquiry. By involving the children in measuring, recording and interpreting results you could cover a number of science objectives .....

Re: Are there any Cornish here?

Dear S.P.Socks, Not Cornish myself (we're settled in S. Hants) but my lady is a genuine balmaiden, whose grandad and brothers were tinners and whose brother in law worked a trawler out of Newlyn. In the late sixties there was a distinct redneck attitude down there, which has improved over the years....

As an example consider Boulean Logic which had been around since Victorian times with no practical application until Alan Turing, Tommy Flowers and un-named Polish mathematicians inv...

Re: We survived the end of the world again

Had a junior class last Friday, they were scared too, and no amount of rational explanation would reassure them. Just goes to show the power of unreason and hysteria that can be unleashed by mass media. Educated people who should know better!

Re: hide goodness?

Dear Mrs Flibble My lady has just reminded me that we also added stewed or fried fruit to porridge or rice pud and the fresh variety to cold cereal. She has also told me that relaxing and letting them work through it is less hassle for you and they'll all get there in the end anyway, Love and Peace ...

Re: Fantasy Name League

When our eldest was on the way we had tried the bibliomancy method of naming. (Yeh, we're REALLY old hippies) You open the Bible and stick your finger on the page. First try came up with Lucifer, second was fleshpots. In the end we called him Joe. (Hendrix was another scrapped option) Even now, at 3...
