It's a half plot I've got my name down for in EK as well. From talking to friend at the council the half plot waiting list is a lot shorter than the full plot list. The idea being I get the half plot and start on that and if I can manage the full plot get my name down for one of them then. No point ...

I've always found that unless you get hit with something like Marc suggested all cucumbers ever need is water and lots of it. As soon as the fruits start growing they just suck all the moisture out the ground and I usually struggle to keep up!

Was offered the use of half a plot in Bellahouston yesterday but its to far away to be feasible

Here in EK I think we've got something like 90 plots between 60,000 people and with the increase in folk wanting somewhere to plant their veg the waiting times shot right up.
