Re: Slugs and snails

I have hens, and I have found that they will eat worms, snails and any other bugs that they find, but the will NOT touch slugs! I think they hate that they slime gets on their beaks! That or they are totally spoiled! They will eat veg seedlings and grass, hence we have no lawn or a blade of grass t...

The hedge has been back quite severely between last august and April. Where it was cut last year new shoots are growing but its only about 2' tall at the moment as i'd left some trunk on for leverage for pulling them out. I made sure to keep some of the foliage on the newer cut sections of hedge so ...

The idea being I get the half plot and start on that and if I can manage the full plot get my name down for one of them then. No point ...

I've always found that unless you get hit with something like Marc suggested all cucumbers ever need is water and lots of it. As soon as the fruits start growing they just suck all the moisture out the ground and I usually struggle to keep up!

Was offered the use of half a plot in Bellahouston yesterday but its to far away to be feasible :(

Here in EK I think we've got something like 90 plots between 60,000 people and with the increase in folk wanting somewhere to plant their veg the waiting times shot right up.

Don't get me wrong...the house is still a wreck! 3 kids, 1 dog and 3 cats make sure of that!

Another Scot invading!

Hi :)

Despite moving into my home over a year ago I'm only now starting to get my garden started. Hopefully things will go from strength to strength soon!
