Long life milk cartons are now refused as a part of cardboard recycling in our area due to the lining inside, you need a degree in waste management these days just to try your best and do your bit !!!!!!!!

I wish we could go back to the days when you could buy just what you wanted instead of pre packed stuff!! problem is all the mega super markets have caused the closure of most of the high streets and the small time shop owners, it does get me angry.

Over the weekend Jane and i spent some time with my sister in Herefordshire and visited the Malvern show what a lovely relaxing weekend it was, we spent most of the time looking at the artisan stalls very nice but expensive :shock: mind you we tend to look at what people are making then get home and...

I'm having a couple of days off now Jane and I are visiting my sister in Hereford, while we're here we have tickets for the Malvern autumn show, were going to treat ourselves to some new bulbs for the spring and eat lots of naughty food and wine :lol: :drunken: :flower:

I spent a busy morning getting the lean too and the greenhouse ready for the winter period, all my winter shoots are coming on well and the peppers are ripening , all the tomatoes are left on the vine to ripen it was'nt a really good season for our toms :dontknow: 20190925_105317.jpg 20190925_105317...

Same here Flo my toms and peppers are ripening now but the main plants are looking ropy, I've cut back most of the leaves to speed up the ripening process.

We've been fairly lucky this year with the weather we are 800ft above sea level just 4 miles from the sea so i bet this winter is going to be fairly harsh.
Mind you i don't mind soup days on a cold Autumn/winters day wrapped up in front of the fire.

I have really enjoyed the salads this year so i've continued sowing in the greenhouse border with lambs lettuce pak choi and Chinese lettuce, i also sowed mustard and cress, American land cress, mung beans and spicy seed mix, All these make fantastic sandwich fillers plus the salad i got the seeds f...
