i got a lovely suprise today, jane bought me jamie olivers book "cook your way to the good life" i know that people get aggravated by his cockney patter, but i have to say that this book is well written, informative, and very easy to follow, and to top it all it only cost £13 at T***o, jane and i have already earmarked recipies to try.
the good thing about this book is that it uses every thing that we grow in the garden and most other people do anyway, its just basic cooking jazzed up a bit.
so in my opinion give it a go you will be plesantly suprised
all the best

I will support this also. Although I have yet to cook out of it, the book itself is very inspiring and enthusiastic written, so I will start sowing now this month to get my first vegs......

I'm under strict orders never to buy anything from jamie oliver
I'm married to a james oliver and he hates jamie with a passion for "stealing his name" and causing him to be the butt of many a cooking joke at work.

I reckon I could grow a lovely bed of roses on a buried Jamie Oliver
...this isn't the first pro-Oliver thread around here recently...I'm starting to worry we're being infiltrated ... James Martin (the anti-christ) will be turning up next

Had a friend few years back who made her living writing and composing recipes for Delia and other well known cooks and authors, when I asked she did not write her own cook books she said " I don't have the face for it".
