I had a lovely tip from a lady down the allotments. She gave me the recipe for dog biscuits.
2lb brown flour
1lb white flour
1lb porridge oats
some minced bacon
oxo or stock/gravy to make a dough
Cook in a low oven until rock hard

She said her husband also likes them, mine does too!!

No packaging and really cheap and the dog is crazy for them
At least I know whats in them too!

Any other petfood recipes?

You'd need to up the protein and reduce the carbo for cats. Hmmm, I wonder.......

I've got a wholefile on dog treats somewhere..

If you've got AZZ cardfile (www.azzcardfile.com), there's a free cardfile with dog treats in it. the cardfile program itself's quite handy too.

I know...i tend to harvest recipes from everywhere and keep hold of them just in case i decide i want to make it!

I'm glad you're enjoying the soap.

Here's one of the recipes (there are about 100 of them...):

Title: Baker's Bagels
Categories: Canine
Yield: 1 servings

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 package yeast (1/4 ounce)
1 cup chicken or beef broth, warmed
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup unbleached white flour

1. Preheat oven to 375°.
2. In large bowl combine the whole wheat flour with the yeast.
Add 2/3 cup chicken broth and honey and beat for about 3 minutes.
Gradually add the remaining flour. Knead the dough for a few minutes
until smooth and moist, but not wet (use reserve broth as necessary).
3. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
Divide the dough into about 15-20 pieces, rolling
each piece into a smooth ball. Punch a hole into each ball with your
finger or end of spoon and gently pull the dough so the hole is about
an 1/2" wide. Don't be too fussy here, the little bagels rise into
shape when they bake.
4. Place all the bagels on a greased cookie sheet and allow to rise 5 minutes.
Bake for 25 minutes. Turn the heat off and allow the bagels to cool in the oven.

Unlike the human variety, these little canine bagels are crunchy. To
soften them, for the occasional treat of bagels with cream cheese or
peanut butter, microwave for about 30 seconds.
