Got a coffee wine on the go at the moment, suposed to be around 19% according to the hydrometer.

Basically I got a demijohn put in 1.5kg of sugar, some yeast, hot water and 4 tablespoons of coffee. Should be interesting will revisit this post in a couple of months when I think it might be drinkable.

that sounds really interesting! never heard of coffee wine before. i wonder what itll taste like?

I've made some and at the moment, its really bitter coffee. I'm hoping it will mellow with age

I made some of this the other day but it hasn't started glugging once I don't think. What have I done wrong, it's my first attempt at wine.

Started some of this this morning - for Tia Maria, I'm anybody's!!!!!

Sky - the most likely cause is that you added the yeast when the liquid was too hot. Wait for it to reach room temperature. Not to worry, though - if that's what you did, just add some yeast now.

Mines going mad at the mo, the hubby added a bit of the bottom of his beer brew to it and it's gone all silly on us .. I'd take a photo but my camera is broken totally.
Will it be ok?
I promised my colleagues on the farm if it turned out to be drinkable I'd take it in, actually if it turns out really horrid I may still take it in for us all to have a laugh at.
I'm counting on Tia Maria though
