Noak Bridge Nature reserve- mentioned on www.noakbridge.net* i think-for its abundance of free fruit that nobody round here picks ("picking your own fruit? WILD?? oh my that's awfully awfully infra-dig! don't mention we live near basildon, it's billericay! billericay I tell you!!!")

also I love Thorndon park on the A128. I didn't get enough of a good look at Wat Tyler Park's wood as we were lost in it and i was somewhat panicking. Wat Tyler is in pitsea.

and finally, my mum's garden for its abundance of dandelions. I set myself up for my next month of coffee this morning!

Like you mrsflibble I like where I live because I can get to nice places for lots of reasons without to much trouble ... I do wish the road out side our home was a little quieter

I live opposite this ... but sorry to say there are mattresses abandoned .. :(

the site has a forum for the "village"... sorry for the question, must seem silly but I still class myself as a bit of a refugee from another forum which appears to be run by hitler.

No hitlers here thank god! I do understand though - I've seen some forums where you can't mention a single product because it might be construed as advertising..... and ones where other forums are THE ENEMY. It's very silly!

I used to be a moderator on such a forum - yikes.... pretty stupid really... it's like going to a pub and not being able to mention any of the other pubs in the vicinity while you are there...

I love living here for the huge skies - the wonderful light - the fresh air - the snow - the space - the slower pace of life - the lack of traffic - oh boy I could go on for hours.

Hatfield Forest.
I love Hatfield forest and the Flitch Way (a disused railway line now owned by the National Trust who keep it as a nature reserve).

I'll miss them when we move, but if scotland is as gorgeous in places as Stoney, Ina and Shirlz describe it, then i've got my fingers crossed for moving northward!!

Erm, the allotments which have remained a haven of tranquility. Bit hard to love an area where your garden gets trashed by drunkards and your neighbours fence is set on fire!
Stonehenge, Avebury, Bratton Camp and Cley Hill are favorite places to escape to :)
