How do I get rid of it ... I have been given some lovley jars, just the right size for Quince/Medler jelly ... the size you can use as gifts ... but they have had garlic in them from some supermarket ... the glass is now smell free having boiled them ... but I cant get the lids to stop smelling ... I know its a lovely smell but not for quince...

Have you tried vingar or mustard powder? I believe it works on pickle smells so it might work on garlic

Bicarb is really good at absorbing smells. Make it into a paste and spread it on and leave for a couple of days.
