Been using a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water as a spray, works wonders as a multi surface cleaner. Now any suggestions for the carpets, no real stains just general dirty patches that could do with a spring clean. (only a few days till summer

I'll look in my natural stain removal book tonight for you. I'm at work now (obviously skiving off)

G'DAy Mate,
Hanna McAbbots Green Guide gives the following Recipe for carpet shampoo-
25g soap; 500ml boiling water; 1 tablespoon ammonia and 5g washing soda.
Grate the soap, pour the boiling water over it and set a side until the soap is dissolved. Add ammonia and soda and store ina screw top jar. Apply to carpet with cloth or brush and lather with hot water.
The ammonia should add to the vinegar and provide quite an interesting bouquet

Where can you get ammonia? I know it is in pee but I guess putting that on my carpet might get a bit of kickback from my girlfriend emma

Andy,
You should be able to get ammonia solution - quite possible as cloudy ammonia - in almost any hardware or grocery shop, we can get it at Woolies
