homemade cider press

came across this photo last night of my brother-in-laws cider press. thought it might put a smile on any cider enthusiasts face. :flower:

excellent... but is best in a pint glass packed with ice and left to melt for a few minutes for a bit of dilution or you could be in for a peculiar evening!

That's a really nice piece of craftsmanship. Is the tree trunk still rooted into the ground?

I'm guessing that's 70s/80s, based on the hair and the plastic handled spade.

LOL.. actually it's either 1999 or 2000 (hair is the still the same!), cause he was using that press when he was making it commercially. the tree isn't still rooted in the ground. the long press bolt is off an old fire engine.

Ah well - I shouldn't make such assumptions. It's just that I looked like that in the 70s (when I had hair). Only I wasn't so well dressed.

Thats a great bit of workmanship, and as for the 70's I spent some of them bald and incontinent!
