Aargh! My Sky box is on the blink so I missed it. Never mind, I can catch the rest of the series. We watched "X-men: The Last Stand" on DVD instead. Hugh Jackman is better eye candy than Ray Mears, although if I was stranded on a desert island I'd choose Ray as my companion.
No, scratch that, I'll have Hugh.

it was good - he went and lived with indigenous Australians and did the Wichiti grub thing, and dug for yams with them - as much as the practicalities
(digging sticks are better for digging yams than a spade), it was an attempt to pickup the "mindset" of a "hunter gatherer" to enable him to apply it to the English countryside (which I presume is next week's episode)

It was good if not frustrating as I want him to forage in the UK. I always forget when something I want to watch is on and only caught this as I was reminded earlier in the day. I do hope I manage to catch next weeks episode I think this could be a very useful series, the first that has gone into that much detail of just UK wild food. I hope there is a book to follow.

I heard Ray Mears talking on mid week on Radio 4 this week, and they will be in Britain for the next programme. He was talking about learning what and how our ancestors would have eaten (so it will be pretty stone aged I think), but I am pretty sure that there will be plenty of good foraging tips to pick up.

I know, Shirlz. My lovely Mr Pea had set it record for me, so I got to watch it after all. Isn't he a love?
I didn't understand why all those women were wearing wooly hats and several layers of warm clothing. They can't have been cold. Ray and his mate were in shorts and shirtsleeves and looked sticky and uncomfortable.
