I just found this and thought I might get one to go on top of my night storage heater, the heat from the heater causes the unit to generate electricity which runs the fan ensuring that the heat is moved around the room! Apparently good for ranges too.

It might do something, and the science involved in how it works is quite interesting. But before spending your money, how about experimenting with a few smoking spills, to see how well the convection currents are already distributing the heat.
With a conventional radiator, most of the heat is distributed by convection (dispite its name), and making sure that these air currents are free to move the air around the room can help.

It would be easy (and somewhat cheaper) to make, but probably wouldn't look as smik as that one.
