I can't remember who posted the original recipe for ginger and Lemon wine, but it was successful in this house, so ta!

And, it was kinda a group effort as everyone answered all ym questions and has been very lovely (much like my wine has turned out...).

It was my first attempt at making wine, and i made 10l of it. One litre has already disappeared down my friend Leeanne's gullet (she said 'hic...that was good') and many more litres will be disappearing.

So, a big thankyou to everyone who has helped make my wine a success!

Going to try Chilli's peach and chilli wine next year when i've grown some chillies.

Need to go sloe hunting.

Any suggestions as to some wine to make now? Got 4 lonely empty looking demijohns waiting to be put to good use!

Thanks again everyone!

Why not see what fruit is going cheap at the moment and make a blend of fruits, I've just racked our plum wine with blueberry juice and the result is fantastic!

Ive made some too - only 1 gallon tho. Its about ready for bottling. How long did u leave it after fermenting to drink it Fee Fairy? How long has it taken u from start to finish?

Why not try coffee wine - its cheap, easy and supposed to be lovely? Ive got some on the go at the moment - its been fermenting for ages!

ooh...coffee wine. Does it come outlike a liqeur?

chadspad: I think i started it in Septemberish, then i left it fermenting til the bubbling stopped, then a bit longer (i kept meaning to bottle it..) i bottled it 2 weeks ago and had a bottle that night. Still got 5l to bottle. Must do that at some point. I did drop in a campden tablet into each demijohn a week before i bottled it (i only really have Sundays to do things like this).

Its yummy! Tastes a bit 'winey', but the lemon is really there, an the ginger is a nice aftertaste/aftereffect.

I have been out to gather lemons and ginger root this morning. No not foraging, (as if ,in this weather!) but now I have a bin with all the ingredients 'ackling' away. Can't wait, it smells fantastic. :drunken:
