I found a website offering a small tv set that used very little power but cannot find it again. Anyone know any links or companies who have plug-in small tv's?

Over here they are available from specialist electronic suppliers (Tandy; Dick Smith elect or JayCar) are there any specialist suppliers of such stuff over there? perhaps try yachting suppliers or caravan supply places?

www.maplin.co.uk have a special offer on a 5.6" TFT colour TV which can run on mains (with mains adapter) or 12V. Power consumption is about 5W. Its a small screen, but you can safely sit very close and the detail is amasing for such a small picture. Wouldn't go for much less size though. Very expensive though, even on offer £119 as compared to £180 normal price. Offer ends 26.3.05, but they tend to have that offer every few months, and occasionally they do the 7" one for about £150. A 5" kathod tube B&W TV consumes about the same power, and there are plenty that run on 12V. Woolworth sell one for about £15 last time I saw it around christmas. Seen them elsewhere for about £20, and they have a radio built in too.

I missed answering this thread with all the ups and downs over the house in the mountains.

I checked that tv out, looks great and they have a fairly inexpensive 5" one, looks fab.

I've saved the site to favourites.

I want to set up my own sattelite system. I believe that I now own my SKY sattelite dish? I am going to find out if I can use that dish and then just have to buy the box for the other sat sys.

I signed off with sky and the insurance from it which gives me more money, I'm downsizing electrics......but it can be costly.

I also checked out the wind-up radios which are cheap. Also they are bringing out a wind-up torch soon.
