Calling all Londoners

Post: # 1456Post Andy Hamilton »

I have contacted by a TV production company here is some of what they have said "Londoners linking back to rural values in order to get a higher quality food source. As such, I am trying to find out as much as I can about allotments, city farms, smallholdings and basically how to grow your own food in the city of London!

I could really use some help finding unique stories and people who are taking this idea and thinking big with it! It would be a really great help if you could help me find anyone you think is particularly interesting or unique in terms of his or her food production in the city."

Can you help then let me know and I shall forward your details onto them.

:flower: Hi Andy, :andy:
If it helps a great place to get some info is to visit any London allotment, theres a big one in West Norwood for instance.

I used to go in just to chat to people when I was stuck in the city.

They really are fascinating and individualistic persons, more than normally cool, many of them grew food outside their homes in countries like Jamaica or whose Londoner grandfathers grew at the same allotments.

If you contact the allotment management through (in this case) Lambeth council or so on then that should give you a good lead? Or even ask local papers to print something about your project in their columns.

Hope that helps. :cat:
