Hello Everybody!
I have a few post 1948 Improved Kilner Jars (2 lb size) with glass lids and need the screw bands that keep the rubber seal and glass lid secured. Any idea where I can get the screw bands? I can get the rubber seals from Adams Ironmongers in Sutton Coldfield.

My mum's a great bottler of nice things, like peaches and fruits. Since living in France she's learnt how to bottle a chicken!!!

The French will put anything in a jar, it's quite amazing. I will let you know in more detail how it's done soon.

(I have to go and ask my mum the exact details!)

Is this a variation of the ship in a bottle?

How about putting an egg in a jar, and then waiting a while.
