I've had mainly problems with snails this year... Must have collected hundreds of them.

Snails are our main problem too. We bought a fish tank to isolate them for a food crop but we haven't quite got round to it yet.
A couple of days ago I found a strange brown streak up the wall next to the kitchen door. It looked like a snail trail but was dry and so thick I could peel it off.

We couldn't work out what it was (bit scary as it was just above the light switch) but there were no obvious leaks anywhere. The next day my OH shouted me over, having discovered the cause - two of the biggest slugs I've ever seen. They were obviously living behind the shoe store and ventured out periodically. They also appeared to be getting quite friendly with each other! Needless to say they were helped to a speedy exit over the fence, wrapped in a piece of kitchen roll to spare their blushes.
Now we need to work out how they got in.

We watched a slug climbing along our wall then it disappeared behind the radiator. I took down a book a couple of days ago from the top of the bookshelf, and something had nibbled they cover, I suspect the slugs are now eating my books. I have been testing my alpaca fibre as slug control and it seems to have worked

Better check your footwear for holes!
I found a snail inside the kitchen window this morning... Sigh. How on earth did that one squeeze in?

I wonder if ours get in attached to a cat. Either that or they've learned how to negotiate the cat flap!

Wow - they must be some size then...
I was given several tubs of slug pellets last winter, so I've been using them freely (they are the bio-friendly variety), and they have had some effect at least. But they just don't work on snails.
