Gloves

Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for good gardening gloves? My current pair is cottony and very grubby and horrible to wear when wet. They do wash, but the stains don't come out. I've had various pairs in the past (including one outrageously floral pair which was a present from a friend) but they all seem to get icky very quickly.

I really want a pair of these: http://www.westcountygardener.com/gloves_work.html but would have to persuade an American friend to take delivery and mail them to me since I can't find anywhere which will ship them to the UK.

I'm liable to wear them for anything from potting up plants to hefting concrete blocks around, so they need to be tough.... They don't need to be bramble-proof as I have leather gauntlets for that.

Thanks

I have the same problem and have started buying cheaper rubberised ones and then chucking them out when they fall apart as my expensive washable ones were hard and horrible after 3 washes

I agree, the green rubberised ones you can get at any garden centre for about 3-4 quid are great because they are tough, waterproof, last for a good while, are flexible and fit closely enough to do more delicate gardening jobs. I've been using them for a couple of years and haven't found anything to better them.

And they're so cheap.... :bom:
