Pictures of the garden taken 1 August 2011. Some produce has matured and has been utilized, beets, carrots, gooseberries, cherry, onions, garlic. Still to come are potatoes, cabbage, Swiss chard, raspberries, blackberries, pears, peaches, luffah, cucumbers, beans, Brussels sprouts, celery, tomatoes, grapes, corn, peppers, melons, squash.
Weather has been very hot and dry. For the last few days there has been some rain, which is most welcome. Watering is avoided, but for about 30 days there was no rain, so I did water the roots of some plants with a five gallon pail to keep them flourishing. Usually downspout rainwater is used if available. I have a total of 270 imperial gallons capacity, when all are filled after a heavy rainfall.
