Last night I went to lock up the hens exspecting them to be bedded down, I found them all in a corner huddelled together petrifyed. I could"nt get them to move even with food, I picked one up and she screamed blue murder! Anyway I finally succeeded in carrying them all to bed, and then noticed one missing! The problem I have is this, Not one feather can be found anywhere in the garden, Not One! I have experience of fox and mink but this one has me stumped. Anyone come across this before? :banghead:

Sadly it does sound like foxes. I have lost hens the same way and not a feather seen. I think they take the whole bird away and then eat it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :hugish:

Thanks Zoe, its not called a fox for nothing, The funny thing was, I knew where the vixen, her den, and her cubs were, but I just could"nt harm them. A very old friend of mine once told me, Nature will always balance out, and I"ve always believed that. (But if she comes back again, Well Maybe I might have to say something serious to her, anyway, Thanks again.
