That's brilliant - I'd wondered how to go about cold smoking without giving over half my garden. Enjoy you kippers, you'll have earned them.

Oh well done you!

I have always wanted to smoke my own fish!
I have often wanted to try it with an old biscuit tin etc, but the smell in the house would worry me

I'd been wanting to build a smoker for ages, literally years. I looked at loads of designs on the web etc. deliberating on what to build, in the end the box was knocked up from offcuts of ply, and the rest i found lying around in the boatyard where I work. It only took about an hour to build in the end. I can't recommend enough trying it.

It did, and still does, taste chuffin' good. Definitely something i'll be doing regularly. I plan to have a go at bacon and pancetta soon. Should be going night fishing tomorrow too. Hopefully I'll catch something to smoke!

Just be thankful there's quite a bit of sea between me and that tasty-looking morsel. :tongue8:
