We lucked out this week as we found an Alfa Laval No.5 milk seperator in great condition, so we brought as weget full cream milk from a farmer down the road, we are also looking to get a butter churn and also plan to try cheese making as well, should be lots of fun, Now if I can only find some nice clean well maintain milk cans as well as it came with sieves as well.

Great stuff, HG. It's illegal to sell raw milk in Scotland!

Don't know about NZ but there's always milk churns for sale on Ebay here.

Silly isn't it, that something so natural that our ancestors used for centuries with no problems is now illegal and while the powers that be might have you believe that it's for health and safety in reality its a decision driven by pure greed. Greed for power and greed for control

I'm told in NZ the farmer is alowed to sell raw at the gate BUT only to the person who intends to consume the milk themselves - cant be retailed or processed into anything to sell without special permissions and testing
