Taste of spring

Yesterday we ate our first asparagus of the season - spring has officially arrived!
Although for us eating young nettles heralds spring, its not until we get the first asparagus that we know it has really arrived.
Next weekend we will have our first peas (thanks Odsox for your tip about growing in the polytunnel).
The winter vegetables, parsnip, celeriac, leeks, etc are almost finished, we've had plenty of calabrese (broccolli), cabbage and lettuces over recent weeks, just waiting for late PSB and early cauliflowers.
Then around the end of the month we look forward to our purple artichokes.
