simple. teach your child to spell, and teach them the alphabet. that way uou'll never be able to put one past them without learning new words.
seriously, having a child that's learning phonetic spelling is doing my nut in. we're having to find new ways to saying things we don't want little ears to hear 'cos she now recognises "s-o-p-h-i-e" "b-a-t-h" "b-e-d" "g-r-a-n-n-y-'-s" "c-a-r" and "c-h-o-c-s".
this morning james said to me "does the flaxen haired one still have to visit the portacabin with the borer impliments and man with surprisingly bad oral hygene?"
meaning "does soph still have a dentist appointment?".....
at this rate once we've exhausted english, I'm going to have to teach James french just to stay one step ahead of her lol.
