The abolition of political interference in Education? Not quite, but the end the petit bourgeois prejudice and party political dogma of the National Literacy and Numeracy initiatives in Primary Schools by 2011.
The idea that politicians could devise tightly structured, narrowly focused, systems of instruction that would benefit the development of children was a nonsense to start with. Education is about drawing out potential to develop independent, flexible, creative, self-reliant, life-long learners and as such is too subversive for any politician to subscibe to. (Those who have been bored by my previous rants on this subject will notice a familiar theme here!)
SATs brought into question, Numeracy and Literacy Strategies going next, now let's bring down the entire Nationalist Curriculum and bring in real EDUCATION!
Sigh of relief as I collapse into a comfortable chair with a smug grin on my face!!!
Love and Peace
Jim
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
The law will punish man or woman
Who steals the goose from off the Common
But lets that greater thief go loose
Who steals the Common from the goose.
Who steals the goose from off the Common
But lets that greater thief go loose
Who steals the Common from the goose.
