Yay! We have finally run out of the can of polish we bought a few years ago. Erm, I don't do much polishing

Anyway, for the wooden things, I am using olive oil and lemon juice, but I'm not sure this is the best bet for plastic stuff like the computer, TV, and that sort of stuff. With a LO around, it does need more than a dry dusting sometimes, and plain water and elbow grease is a bit boring. I want something fancy. Any suggestions?

I always damp dust, usually fill a bowl with hot water and a few drops of EO, a mixture of Lemon and Lavender, or maybe grapefruit or orange... stick all the dusters in it and wring them out as tight as possible as you use them... nice and fresh.

I use those microfibre cloth things damp. I use em on everything, they bring up glass lovely (one damp to clean, one dry to buff)and no chemicals. (Glass table, 3 spawns...what was I thinkin??? ) I know what you mean about boring though......

1 part white vinegar to 10 parts water in a spray thingy does glass a treat, especially if you buff it with scrunched up newspaper. Mirrors don't fog up so quickly either. It works on tiles too.

I spay it onto the duster for things like the telly & pc, rather than risk getting water in the workings. it doesn't smell very strongly of vinegar, but you could always add a drop or two of EO if you have a very sensitive nose...I don't...hayfever at the mo!

Im a fan of diluted vinegar too, also have a spray bottle of soda water usually with some EO in too.

Also have a wee bit of nice liquid soap well diluted in a spray bottle - I mostly just use a few drops of ecover's linseed floor soap as I've had a bottle of that on the go for a couple of years since we moved house and don't have wooden floors any more.

If you're not so keen on linseed fragrance(!)dr. bronners do a nice liquid castille soap in various fragrances - I think the peppermint makes things seem doubly clean .

damp dusting with a drop of EO is the best way to go ... its easy and cheap also because your removeing the dust you dont have to do it to often... leaving time for for other stuff... mind you the rain thats coming down here at the moment it looks like the whole house will get done today

I have found that baby wipes are fantastic for cleaning and reducing static on my laptop screen. It wasn't my idea - my daughter told me!

I know baby wipes aren't a brilliant idea - I wouldn't use them on a baby, but they really do work on your screen.
