Today I had three definite objectives :
Write to our internet company about an amount they overcharged
Work out some commission for our agents in our internet business
Write to the local tax authority about a duplicated bill we need
Easy, n'est pas?
So I wrote the first letter and start to print it. Then discover the printer is leaving black splodges all over the paper. I take it apart, clean the rollers, wipe the plates. No better. Set about it with vodka and some cotton buds. Much better.
So I start on the commission calculations and discover the master sheet has disappeared from this computer and the back up is inaccesible on my computer we left in in the UK. Waste three hours reconstructing it and send on the payments.
The OH discovers his emails aren't showing in the preview pane. Waste ages checking out forums, trying various solutions. Eventually write to IT son for a solution - he must dread my emails headed "another problem..."
Then we have a three hour power cut. After much consternation we discover we were in fact notified but the letter got lost in the pile of mail we had waiting for us.
Then OH comes in to say the power cord on the lawnmower (we have come back to a jungle) has broken. We take it apart, can't access the cord and decide we will have to take it to the lawnmower shop. Drag it into the back of the car and deliver it for repair.
Then gave up with a nice glass of red wine. Sometimes it's the only solution. The tax letter can wait until tomorrow...

I know the exact feeling.
On Saturday and Sunday I achieved so much that yesterday and today have been complete washouts. Why can't I be so efficient all the time?
