I am back again!
Helllllooooooooooooo................................................it has been a very long time!
Honest, I hadn't forgotten all about you!
I've got my hands full at the moment - Ellis has just turned three and wants to know EVERYTHING NOW, and wee Fin has just gone 6 months and is getting well into mummy's attempts at an Annabel Karmel style baby puree banquet. He also has brachycephaly (that's a flat head to most of us!) so I spend a lot of time during the day working to ensure he's not just laying on his back, or with his head touching a surface. I also spend a lot of time ensuring Ellis doesn't feed him salt-dough or Playmobil....
I've also got myself involved in our local tenants' association, and in a project to develop a community garden of raised beds for growing organic produce (based on the Fairlie Project in Ayrshire, which is well worth a look if you fancy a Google), so I'm currently up to my eyeballs in calculation carbon emissions, fundraising and trying to organise a 'small tools amnesty' (though I'm wondering if some of the local illiterates might get the wrong end of the proverbial stick on that one and cause me a few blushes). I will be nagging you all on how to build a composting toilet or 6 soon....!
My computer blew up a wee while ago - well, it didn't exactly blow up, it more whimpered, so I've been saving my pennies for a new one........so here I am! I have missed you all very much, and it is very nice indeed to be back. Looking forward to catching up with you all......!!

I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

Re: I am back again!
Welcome Back - about time too!!
My granddaughter has bracycephaly too - now she has some volume in her hair, you don't even notice it - but when she was smaller & mostly bald, it was quite disconcerting!! She was born with a cleft lip & palate as well, so obviously everything was out of kilt when fusing..... she didn't have to have treatment for it though, and we had quite a tussle with the GP & had to take the info with us, as he'd never seen it before!
Good luck with your little one though - sounds like you've been busy

Welcome back, I was thinking of you just the other day
E just has a weird shaped head, when she was bald she looked like an alien... they don't have a name for weird shaped head though
Once they get a bit of hair it's not noticable.
Glad to hear Ellis is behaving like a good big brother re. the playdough feeding... just what big brothers should do.
Anyway, glad you are back, you've been missed

Re: I am back again!
Actually, Ann - that's just what bracycephaply IS... and I have to correct myself... Leah actually had Plagiocephaly.... where the head seems to be pushed to one side at the back - sometimes they have to wear a specially designed 'crash helmet' to slowly mould the skull bones back into place - but like I said, Leah had no treatment - her head is still kinked over to one side, but so far, it's had no detrimental effects... except she's left handed & we wondered if that was a contributory factor?
Interesting stuff when you start looking into it.

Re: I am back again!
Well... in fear of hyjacking the thread, E just has (like me) an alien shaped head, when I was TRYING to give birth, the doctors were trying to rotate her as they couldn't figure out which way her head was facing and until she grew a fair amount of hair she just looked weird
.... ever-so cute now though
Obviously never serious enough to get any treatment, but I was asked if I wanted to see a specialist about it.

Re: I am back again!
I didn't realise your granddaughter was born with cleft lip and palate Julie - my youngest was born with that too.
