lappy came back yesterday but it was returned with system preparation manager 2.0 still open, they'd not sealed the windows for the end user (me).

i rang asus to see what to do and they gave me a bit of advice, but when i tried to follow the advice i hit a stumbling block of error mesages.

i rang back and the bloke (Marco) asked me to send him some screen prints so he could ask someone more in the know than him and get back to me. he basically said, you've been without your lappy for over a week now and we dont want to have to take it off you again for another week.

we then communicated by email, he answered all the questions i had and sent me detailed instructions on how to fix it. i followed them, the compoopter is now working fine.

they rule! and Marco Scholt went above and beyond the call of duty as a call centre worker.

i've emailed him asking for an address to write to to give official thanks.

Never had a problem with Asus, always top tech support imho!

his email back was amusing. he said it's not often you get such a patient and friendly person ring you when you're working in a call centre, and also he's going to ask around about an address to write to because he only knows an address for complaints lol!
