oh noes!!!

Post: # 149464Post mrsflibble »

my darling little eee pc laptop has gone boobies-up.
the mouse has broken. I'm going to be calling Asus on monday because it's not a software problem, and because it's still in warranty. I am kind of of the opinion that it's my fault; I use it daily for at least an hour and have had it since 12th oct last year...

but like i say, it's only had normal general wear and tear. I'll be using my PC mouse and external hard drive to back up all the data on it (thankfully only 12gb hard drive!) as I don't want to lose the Peggle and Peggle Nights high scores we've all accumulated hahaha!

*sob* my poor little eeepc!

An hour a day for six months doesn't sound like a lot.

My laptop is on for at least eight hours a day and I've had it two and a half years. OH (computer programmer and mega geek) has his on from 9am til bedtime!

You should maybe go for a replacement - if you let them fix it you acknowledge it's fixable and it may never be right!

if it's still in warranty it shouldn't be a prob getting it fixed, eventually anyway, though I have found they are all pretty rubbish when it comes to customer service - had to send a HP laptop back three times for repair at work and they kept sending it back with a different fault! Go figure...good luck anyways.

My five year old Lenovo (IBM) is on from 7A to 10P most days. Your problem can't be overuse!

Do you mean the track pad has broken, or do you have a seperate mouse?

and yeah, none of this over use rubbish.... Things are made to be used... and did it come with a 'over use' warning? NO. Products, any product has to be 'fit for intended use' or send it back.

I am the queen of the returns world, :king: I refuse to accept poor design or workmanship as an excuse.

OH's EEEpc, is starting to bug the living bejesus out of me, but then it's because he leaves the tapper function on the track pad and Mrs Sausage Fingers here, with a toddler hanging off one arm doesn't seem to have the manual dexterity to function when 'light touch' is a priority.

I think you possibly should have tried going direct to Asus honey, they rule!

I rang them today, they've given me a code to put in their website which I duely did. They're contacting me within 48 hours to arrange a collection time, are picking it up, fixing or replacing (no i dont get a choice over which) and bringing it back all free of charge. the man on the phone was very helpful and friendly and i have high hopes.

yeah, the trackpad annoyed the hell out of me too until it broke, then it just upset me hahaha!
