Lovely...
In my limited experience now is the perfect time of year to pull up all those weeds and long grass... the roots are pretty weak just now.
Good luck.... and never underestimate the benefits of a playpen

That looks exciting!

Take some toys, something for LO to sit on when it's wet, water if you don't have running water, soap, old towel, change of clothing for LO, snacks and drink, minor first aid stuff, and (as if you don't know) clean nappies because "going to the allotment" translates as "you can have a poo on the way". I painted the inside of my shed door with black board paint and took some chalks which was fun for quite a while.

Edited to add that the thing I keep in the shed at the allotment that I wouldn't be without is an old parasol. Also, if you get the chance to collect sample sachets of sun cream, grab them while you can and keep them there too.

Looks like my bottom garden before I started on it..... you will find a petrol-driven flymo very useful at the start :-)

Thank you!
Rosey - The shed and waterbutt are my neighbour's unfortunately, they just happen to be on my bit of plot. I'll be taking down a large plastic lockable box though, so I'll keep a load of stuff n tools in there. You've given me some good ideas to get started though... I have to put him down somewhere!!!

Oooh yes, I love before, during and after photos of allotments! What a shame that isn't your shed! Do you know what the 'tree' is? Hope it is something fruitful! Good luck.

Yay!!
Looks just like our first allotment when we took it over. And yes, it's at the right time now to get it cleared - quickly tho, so you can get some planting done!
Enjoy!
