We are digging up the whole of the back garden & startnig again, both of the pergolas are down & the garden now looks huge, we are not getting rid of my fruit bushes but near enough everything else is going.

Er - just what started this spring clean? Is there a cunning plan? Or is there even a reason? Or is a just a pastime which involves a lot of labour and no cash expenditure which could be a money saving ploy?

We had a new lodger move in on the Solstice eve & he wanted the garden changed, plus the 2 pergolas were rotten the one so much so it was a death trap & didn't realise how much so until we were taking it down, plus our garden feels huge now. Paul the lodger also wanted some lawn to relax on, we are not getting rid of the fruit or veg though as he is very much into his veg growing as well, we are just going for a different approach for the garden.

So excited for you, Sleepyowl, but please do take some before pictures. Then if the work feels like it's dragging on at any time you can look back at the photos and see how much progress you have made. It's a real boost that is sometimes very needed. Good luck, and have fun.

It's too late for before pictures but we are slowly but surely getting through it which feels good
