OUCH !!!!!

Post: # 123461Post old tree man »

Got knocked off my bike today,i was riding around a roundabout then out of nowhere this old chap came flying round in his car and wiped me out, to add insult to injury he drove off and left me lying in the road !!!!, HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HE DID IT :angryfire: there were no witnesses so the police could'nt do anything, i did'nt see him or the car as i was flying through the air at the time, so i got took to casualty and ended up with a fractured left wrist and all the tendons torn off my right shoulder, so lifting my arm up is so painfull, my right forarm and wrist is in a nice GREEN cast,
the doc gave me some really strong pain killers (t ramadol) these are really trippy :confused2:
but they do stop the pain a bit, so i am typing this with one finger very slowly no change there then  i just wished people would take there time and look out for others the police told me i was lucky today, dosen't feel like it at the minute ouch.

be safe

Sorry to hear about your injuries. I'm afraid that some people (OK most) probably should stop driving when they get to "a certain Age". Not sure when that is - just hope I'll recognise it.

When your shoulder's had a couple of days to recover use that stuff I told you about for your wife's arthritis, gently, onto the area. Don't massage it until it's fully healed.

Get well soon! Fancy not bothering to stop - didn't they feel a bump or something? :angryfire:

You'll probably have some nice technicolour bruises as well. At least you have someone to blame - my OH slipped in our garden a few weeks ago and broke his arm. He'd made some steps in a bank and I'd warned him that they were dangerous...

Oh dear Russ, I hope you soon feel better! Rotten motorist! :angryfire:
The same happened to my son a while ago. He was cycling round a roundabout and a car just entered the roundabout and smashed into him. Then, as he lay in the road with head and shoulder injuries the motorist stood over him shouting at him, trying to get him to say it was his own fault.
The driver then told the police that John had `run into him`!
Luckily there were witnesses.

Get well soon m`dear! :flower:

I feel for you, I've had a couple of near misses on my daily cycle to and from work, always at the roundabout because fortunately there is a cycle path all along the ring road, but the number of motorists that don't bother indicating at roundabouts and seem to have a blind spot for cyclists is criminal.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear about that Russ. Hope you heal up well.

I spent two weeks in hospital once when I hit a pothole, flew over the handlebars, and smashed my head onto the road. I had a cracking headache for a month afterwards. I've also flown over the bonnets of cars (all entirely my fault I'm afraid - the poor drivers thought they had killed me, and no fault of their own).
