Finally used our local Freecycle!

Post: # 122795Post Millymollymandy »

It's only been up and running for a year or so in this area of France and we've been meaning to get rid of some old computer equipment for a long time, you know how you do......

Finally my OH put 3 different things up and was amazed at the response within hours, then decided to clear out some garden equipment that was clogging up the garage and barn - and whoosh that went too!

All three takers of 6 items arrived one after the other, it was just incredible!!!

So within 24 hours everything went and look - there's space in the cupboard where that giant laser printer and old fax machine were, floor space where that old pc was......

I had to be very careful as my hubby was so 'into' it I was afraid he'd start giving away good things that I want to keep!

(Sorry to be boring but we were freecycle virgins)

Yay - it's great that you got rid of all your stuff that way and that you didn't have any problems with people not turning up.

Lol! Don't worry about being excited 3M - I'm still just as excited about freecycling as I was 2 years ago when I started!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I love Freecycle and like the poster above, I've been using it for two years and I'm still excited too :D

I got my Enamelling Kiln (for my jewellery business) off of Freecycle and the lovely lady even gave me some blanks and loads of tubes of the Enamel powder too!!

We too have gotten rid of loads of stuff too... it's great thought you do get the odd one or two annoying people but overall Freecycle is great :dave:

What amazed me the most is that this Freecycle group is based in the city 30 ish kms away and nearly everything on offer is there in the city hence we never bother with asking for anything that's on offer (not that there's anything much that is of interest). However one of the takers was from the next village to us so it means that it's not really just the city but the further flung parts of the countryside too, which is good to know.
