It's me again with yet another question. I am nearly ready to bottle my first home brew, only a kit alas, but it is just to get me started. What I want to know is can I use Milton to sterilise my bottles? I know someone out there will have the answer! One day I might just be able to answer someone's query. I am not qite as daft as I sound! pbf

Nobody thinks you are daft - and I can't answer your question, either! I usually "sterilise" all my stuff for jam, wine etc just with hot water... Don't like the idea of chemicals too much. But have never done any homebrew, so I really can't give a valid opinion on that.

Yes, you can use Milton. Sterilise your bottles, then rinse them just before use in plain cold water.
I repeat the only meaningful test - if I put some water in that there container, would you be happy to drink it? If yes - your containers are clean enough to put your wine or beer in. Simple.
